Meet Our Board

Bill, Donna & Billy Ruppert

Bill and Donna started this mission in 2008 when Bill retired from his business due to a heart attack. While waiting on his disability claim they were asked by a local pantry operator (Dave Klaffer) to take a little off his plate and deliver bread to Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapeer. As time went on they started to get produce from the bread source. In 2012 they started to give bread and produce away at their home. They also decided to do special events for the local children as a “community group”. The CHRISTmas and Easter events continue to this day. In 2016 they became an affiliate of the Lapeer Citizens Probation Council allowing them to get food from the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan. In July of 2019 they achieved non profit status on their own name making The Good Samaritans of Eastern Michigan a 501 (c) (3) charity.

Roxanne

Roxanne has been with The Good Samaritans for a number of years and so impressed us that we asked her to be a board member. She is however somewhat camera shy.
